Speaking of bands which are good on record but shit at what seems to be only festivals- The Cribs.

Well, I don't like them on record either, but my friend loves them, and even he said they weren't very good.

Could be due to the fact the sound was appalling, they weren't getting paid, or they were following Ash who were AMAZING.

But still, I'd love to see Bloc Party anywhere. Just to be next to Kele's glorious hair.

2nd best hair in music.

1st goes to Claudio Sanchez from Coheed & Cambria.

Google him. You'll see what I mean =]

Russell waved at me when I went to see them at the Carling Academy last April Embarassed

But yeah they were superb live. The encore of She's Hearing Voices, Sunday, SRXT, Helicopter was just WOW. And what made it better was that it was free Very Happy

The girl I was seeing at the time, her dad had "connections", and managed to get us face value tickets after it was sold out. I was meant to pay them back but I broke up with her two weeks later and haven't spoken to her since Very Happy

The musical version of sleeping with her and not calling back.

Classy (Y)

I'll put it that way.

Thanks Very Happy

I refuse to listen to it until it's been on the radio. Only a few mins to go though.

How rude of them. Turn the guitars up and it has the potential to be AMAZING live though.

Aye, I'm definitely liking it more and more with each listen. The horns are a bit of a rip of The National Anthem, but it works, and its incredible that Bloc Party have managed to pull something like that off.

Can't wait for the new album now Very Happy

It is a bit... lacking... on that front.

Quite like it so far but it's not exactly Silent Alarm material.
Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.

Also doesn't really seem to have more than a few lines in it, bit repetitive over 4 minutes Confused

Mercury video

I'm having nightmares about that =\

And. Song. What?

Having said that, I didn't care much for The Prayer when it came out, now I really like it.

I hope that's not what the rest of the albums like.

I'm hoping it'll grow on me.

I think Kele's taking this DJ thing a bit far.

Fair enough he's doing DJ sets at festivals, but leave the DJ-esque stuff in the tent.

Keep Bloc Party the way it was, yeah?

(And I do like Flux. But that was done with guitars and a load of weird effects, not with the stupid voice cutting and samples. That was a nice direction to go in as well)

Someone said here that apparently this album was supposed to be like a mix of Silent Alarm and Weekend In The City.

I'm assuming this song was supposed to be both of those. The more electronic element of Weekend In The City, and the faster pace of Silent Alarm. But still... =\ I'm not a fan of this.
