Blood Red Shoes Stalking Tour 2009

Postby lrr on Thu Nov 27, 2008 10:19 pm

Just a plan a friend of mine and I had after our last brs gig:

We were wondering about whether it's possible to tour along with the brs next summer (though there aren't specific dates online, but I'm sure there will be) as a vacation. The masterplan is to get in the car and travel after steven and laura-mary for about 2 weeks.
As being german it would made sense if we start in germany and hike along the netherlands, france, spain and of course the UK (for example).
The reason why I'm writing this in the forum is that we would like to have as many fans as possible to travel along with us through all the countries. I'm sure we have one or two germans here who like the idea as well.
If we'll get to foreign countries we could meet people of the forum, so you're not alone and of course we'd had the possibility of getting a cheap place to sleep (A tent in the garden is better than the back seats of a 12-yr old Volkswagen) and of course they are invited to join the brs stalking tour 2009 as well!
Maybe we could also talk to Laura-Mary and Steven, so we don't have to pay for all tickets (what would make the vacation a bit cheaper...)

What do you think about this? I love the idea... seeing brs-gigs, traveling through europe, meeting new people in other countries... the more I think about it, the more I'd wish we could start tomorrow...

Post feedback, ideas, "registrations" and all other things making this really happen!!

Well, when they come to the Netherlands again, I'm deff gonna be there. And hopefully one or two gigs abroad. Would be fun to meet up with as many people as possible! So let me know by then, possibly for a place to sleep as well or whatever. I like the idea, good music and vacation is a perfect match.

When you've got some concrete plans you should let them know, maybe there's a possibility to get on the guestlist or something. But maybe you shouldn't call it 'stalking'-tour.

That actually sounds like what I've done this year haha. But yeah, I'll be in the west germany gigs for shiiiiiz and at every other gig in the netherlands - and my new year resolution is to spend more time in the uk again.

That's what I plan to do when Ladytron next tour though that's not for a while, and was thinking about doing it for BRS. Though, my plan is just to go all over the UK dates, as I still probably won't have a passport by then, and I'm a poor student :P

But hope you get to go along with it!

"Stalking-tour" in Netherlands ruined me (and I'm considering only money, not health and so :D) but I'd like to do something like this tho. I see a Volkswagen van

and bunch of BRS fans making their summer :)

Stupid is that in summer bands play usualy at festivals, which are pretty expensive :(

Wow... looks like this actually could happen!
There are school holidays in spring also, so we could also plan this at this time.
The point that bands usually play festivals in summer is good... so we may have to look if there are "normal" dates.
I would suggest that we collect the people who are interested in this plus the country they are from. When we've got enough people who joined, we'll get more concrete and think of two weeks in which we'll do the Stalking Tour.
Apart from that someone could ask Steven or Laura-Mary when there'll be dates online... or if they already know a period of time that would fit with our plans...

But first of all please post your name and country, if you're interested.

I'll start:
Leon, Germany. Planning and possibility to see gigs all over the West of Europe.
I've got a car, so I could carry about 4 people.

As far as I know, they'll be recording in spring. I don't really care when this all happens, I have school once in a month, only time I can't go anywhere is during exams. And maybe I'll have a job or something... I have no idea what's going to happen tomorrow, so I don't think about next year

Still, I'm in.

Petra, the Czech Republic. I'd be happy to make some western and central Europe dates.
No car, no driving license.

I guess touring won't start untill next summer? Or somewhere around that time.
But I'm not sure, I even wonder if Laura and Steven already have any concrete dates.
So maybe you should wait with real plans untill we know more about that?

Anyhow, I'd love to join. If I had time, money, or anything else to offer.
But hey, we'll see. It would be a perfect summer, or spring break.

So. Laura, the Netherlands.
Deff. gonna go to all Dutch gigs.
Hopefully some in Germany or something.
No car, no driving license, not much.

Just pm-ed Steven, whether he has time to check out our plans and maybe got some suggestions and information.
Looks like we've got people who like to join this, who haven't got a car or driving license. Alex, who's in this forum as well, def. has one next summer (If he's finally able to get his arse from the couch and start taking driving lessons), so we probably have about 8 free spaces at least. Starting in Germany (hopefully, if there are dates) we could definitely pick up hitch-hiking BRS fans on our way through europe.
Hope this will end in a two-week vacation with crazy, slightly drunk fans from all over the continent rocking the shit out of themselves (and it really looks like it's ending that way)...

Well I did travelled to Lille last year but this year I couldn't due to lack of fund and time off.
However, I am well considered doing few dates outside UK (Ireland and Netherlands are my priority as I have never been there) next year. Whether I am doing two weeks stalking I am not sure yet depend on getting time off. Sometimes its not very nice if you have full-time job

I will put my name down though but don't get surprise if I drop out

Conic. UK, will travel to Ireland, Netherlands and maybe few other countries
And yes I have car enough for 4 people but I can't see I will drive outside UK :P

I've thought of this idea many times for many bands. I have no money, no car and can probably only offer people my floor and sofas to sleep on if BRS play manchester.

If there's a tour during the easter holidays thugh I'd be up for touring the UK.

so, James from the UK. Happy to tour the uk and probably Ireland too.
I can offer a floor to sleep on in manchestr :)
