I adore Conor's music, and I really don't listen to it enough.
I was really impressed with his latest album.

Cassadaga is amazing but I'm Wide Awake It's Morning has always been my favourite. I have 8 of Conor's albums though.

I saw Bright Eyes live earlier this year and that was quite special!

My four winds vinyl is signed :D

I'd opt for Wide Awake myself as well.
Wonderful, intelligent, songwriting, love Connor's voice too, he sounds like the quivering boy at the back of the class.

Was massively disappointed when I saw him live a few months back (think I've posted that already somewhere, apologies if so). Particularly gutting when it's someone you so admire too (and it was £17.50 a ticket).

I saw him live this year, too.
It was on a festival, though, so I think in a smaller venue and with people around you who like him as much as you do it's quite different. Because it was disappointing and he was drunk and didn't know where he was. Not quite the man I always thought he was.

Yeah I think he's always accepted that he has a problem with the juice, doesn't help when you see him live and are surrounded by a bunch of chinless wonders who start cheering every time he stumbles across the stage. He got in trouble a few years back at Glastonbury for an outburst regarding John Peel on the John Peel stage. He apologised promptly tho. He was pissed, for a change.

Conner is touring with his new band this summer.

15 rats a ticket again, after his half-arsed performance last time he was in Brum it's gonna be a tough sell trying to convince friends to attend this one.

I saw Bright Eyes 3 times last year . Twice at Glastonbury and once in Brum not long after. The first glasto show was in a tiny tiny tent and I didn't know any of the songs he did but the absolutely passion he performed with blew me away and I loved it.

The performances on the other stage and in Brum really really bored me though. I appreciate he was touring a new album but completely ignoring all his other work at all was a bad decision. He only did one old song at Glasto and 3 at brum from what I remember. I was very disappointed at both as Conor just seemed so bored during both shows and didn't put anything into either show.

I've listened to some of his solo album though and its restored my faith in him a bit. I'm quite tempted to see him again on the strength of the 5 songs I heard.

Very much like, lyrics and intelligence and sadness.
But I really haven't listened to Cassadaga and his solo. Oops, I'm gonna work on it.

I saw Conor Oberst with his Mystic Valley Band last night. It was ace. He looked so happy to be onstage and they just tore through their set. I was left smiling. So much better than the last time I saw him.

Didn't risk Conner on this tour due to his indifferent display on the last one, I'll no doubt regret that.

Tickets to see Ryan Adams tho, wahey.

I'm going through a big Bright Eyes mania atm. Sometimes it feels like it's the only thing I want to listen to. My favourite album must be Fevers & Mirrors. Or Lifted,... Or maybe I just love them all. Cassadaga and his solo are actually good, but they're too polished for me. Right now whining, over the top, melodramatic songs about despair, drugs and alcohol, where he sings off-key and his voice cracks, are just the thing to listen to. I hope I get pass that phase, so I could appreciate his newer stuff.
