I really do, they're pretty much the only band that fall in that bit in the middle the venn diagram of the kinds of bands i liked more when i was younger and the bands i like now. They present something to me that no other band really does.
Why do you fucking love Blood Red Shoes?

First time I saw BRS was 21st of October 2006 at the Notting Hill Art Center. I just wanted to go up to London on a whim, so took a look in the back pages of an NME and started scanning through the gigs in London that day, in the end I chose the Notting Hill Art Center gig cause it was free It ended up being a great day, I spent farking ages looking for the venue and couldn't find it, then some how ran into the drummer for the headliner band at the same gig (think the band was called Jarius) so i stuck around with him and when we eventually found we got in early, I almost felt like a groupie .
First band was They Don't Sleep (who I thought were excellent, but looking at their myspace seems they split early this year) then when BRS came on I was just blown away, I already knew ADHD from their myspace but I was captivated by all their songs as I heard them. They were selling the ADHD vinyl after their set and I remember I actually ran out of the gig to buy a pen for them to sign it (turns out they had pens of their own, lol). I really wish i knew which songs they played, I actually emailed Steve asking for the set list and he replied but I accidently deleted the email when cleaning out my MSN.
Anyway since then I've followed the bands progress closely and have watched them grow and the progress they've made in two years is amazing. I'm really not 'in-the-know' when it comes to discovering new bands in their unsigned stage so I guess that's why BRS are so special to me, by pure of chance I saw them at a free gig in London, and since then they release 5 singles, a six track EP and a long awaited album, played an average of one gig every three days and toured the world from Scotland to Japan. Every gig I see is always at the very least as good as the last and they have a fantastic collection of songs and B-sides, not to mention coming across as really cool people who appreciate their fans and I count myself very lucky to be a part of it all.
And that is why I fucking love Blood Red Shoes.

^ Steve should print that off, buy a frame, put that in the frame, get an office, and a desk, then hang that on the wall above his desk. _________________ You're wrapped up in a uniform, just a cigarette away

This isn't really on topic but I just got back my Box Of Secrets cd after I lent it to a few people and they kept it for a long time.
I don't think I've ever had a feeling like I had a minute ago when I put this cd in and the drums from Doesn't Matter Much kicked in.
