Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone knows if the band are going to be doing some instore gigs along with the October UK tour? I understand that you probably don't know that much insider info, but it's worth a shot, right?

None have been announced (as far as I know), but they're usually not announced this far in advance.

Yeah leave it nearer the time. Especially as we don't know if anything is even being released in October.

I'd imagine they'll be releasing something around then. A final single from the album would make sense around then, I'd imagine.

I'm pretty sure the final single is This Is Not For You and that's supposed to be released next month.

It might be the new EP though :)

I was in Crash Records in Leeds last week to get my cockpit tickets for October. And they have a little "Box of Secrets" behind the vinyls where you can vote for BRS to play in your local store.

I need to go back today and ask them about it.. and actually vote!

last time we tried to do instores and regular shows on the same day we burned out pretty fast and went a bit nuts (hence the "glasgow fiasco" as it's now known). turns out we're not as superhuman as we thought.

so probably not gonna do too many of them unless we stick em on alternate days or something similar.

we're DEFINITELY NOT releasing any more singles off of the album. ideally we'll be able to release a new EP by then but we're not setting ourselves any specific targets - we're just writing as much as we can in soundchecks and days off, then we're gonna record and see what we have and what would sound good on an ep. then once it's ready we'll figure out when to release it (rather than setting a date then having to write specifically for it, bands who do that just seem to end up writing shit to fill up a record).

we have got rick rubin onboard to produce it tho. it's gonna be mega.*

we have come out with some weird sounding bits for the "this is not for you" b-sides tho....one sounds like a prog rock tune and one sounds like sister-era sonic youth meets my bloody valentine (and it's actually fairly...ahem....slow).

I like how it has a name now. I also like that I was there, feels like a sort of cult thing now.

If those b-sides are anything remotely like how they've just been described, I can't wait :D

We don't want Rubin. We want Albini. Well, I want Albini. But I want Albini to produce everything. Time I listened to In Utero again, I think.

I got an email from the Sound Knowledge record shop in Marlbourgh saying they are attempting to get BRS to do an instore there.

Any truth in this. If so that would be ACE!! :D
