they seem to have no thread, so whilst listening to 'the fragile' thought i'd make them one. :P

any other fans (bar conic) ? definately one of the best alt rock / industrial rock bands from america over the last 20 years. guess most people will know them from johnny cash covering 'hurt'.

they've got a new song 'discipline' on http://discipline.nin.com/ for download which sounds pretty promising. theres a rather random official video for it on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1ZMKfFHU3U

I really got into NIN last summer thanks to a friend insisting I give em a go. They were by far the best band at Leeds fest too. They were nothing short of amazing.

Damn right! Not just one of the best band from America, one of the best live band. If anyone saw them in Reading/Leeds last year should know what I mean.

still haven't got a chance to listen "Ghosts I-IV", I shall wait till payday to get it :)

I got into them just before the release of With Teeth.

I'm debating whether to get Ghosts I-IV

Any good?

It's all instrumental isn't it?

I've never really got into NIN before. I've liked the odd things I've heard on the radio, but I've never listened to more. But this is rather fantastic.

Corona Radiata is brilliant. If anything, I reckon it could have done with being a half hour long thing on the end of the album, but I suspect the appeal wouldn't go very far beyond me.

NIN are amazing, especially live.

If you're new to them i suggest checking out these songs:

Closer
The Perfect Drug
Just Like You Imagined
Piggy
We're In This Together Now
Head Like a Hole
Sin
Wish
Hurt

I just sent the album to myself =]

I should be creaming when I get home.

Also... I've heard Closer. But not by NIN. I know it's originally by them, but I heard a jazz cover by Richard Cheese.

If you haven't heard of him, go look him up. He's amazing =]

x

EDIT: Bizarre supports for NIN North American/South American tour. Does It Offend You, Yeah? Crystal Castles (more understandable than DIOYY but still...)

the buggers have a place to bury strangers supporting as well on some dates  c.castles isnt such a weird choice - trent does seem to like noisy electro bands as support

some rehearsal footage on http://www.myspace.com/nin

1,000,000=TUNE.

Great album. Equal to Year Zero I'd say

I spent my whole day reading up the Year Zero promo story (I'm cool). I read the Journal from the gracetheteacher site and loved it.

Excellently written. Reznor's making a TV series out of the ARG game/Year Zero concept apparently.

I've just started listening to the band within the last month and am kicking myself that never got into them way sooner. So far I've only listened to The Downward Spiral. I've realised so much from just listening to it. It's beyond badass, and just a lot more evil and epic sounding than anything I've ever listened to ever! I've vowed never to listen to Pendulum again, as NIN's sound is what they seem to be trying to replicate or rip off. If Prince was the absolute god of badass instead of being a human sized greased covered hotdog rolled in pubic hair he'd be NIN. GENIUS of the week!

"I wanna fuck you like an animal" like Jesus, Mary and Joseph that's badass!
