PUKKELPOP!

Postby sailorette on Mon Jun 22, 2009 1:38 pm

Hi new to the forums :), I know this was mentioned in a previous post, but Blood Red Shoes are playing Pukkelpop!

So my question is, who's going?

It's going to be my first festival :D

who else you looking forward to?

I think so far; placebo, artic monkeys, klaxons, maximo park, deftones, vampire weekend, & snow patrol are what i'm excited for.

Pukkelpop really is one of the best fests ever. Me + Lauraa. went last year and are also going next august so that makes at least 3 haha. We still need to get tickets tho. The BRS gig there last year was extremely awesome, the crowd went mad. I hope they play the same stage this year cause of the closeness to the crowd, but since they're headlining some stage I doubt so. They might play at the Marquee stage or some? Don't know. Marquee is the largest 'indoor' podium there btw.

And besides BRS its deff Klaxons, Placebo once again, Snow Patrol also once again, Enter Shikari, The Offspring, The Ghost of a Thousand.. and so many more names, as I said, amazing festival.

But fingers crossed for them booking Pulled Apart By Horses, Rise Against, Brand New, Amanda Palmer or maybe VETO!

Ahh they're still announcing bands? But I agree, Brand New! I love them. I was going to go Reading last year just to see them, jesse lacey is amazing.

I wouldn't worry about pukkelpop selling out, I've scoured the whole forum on the official site, and it never has you can even buy at the door :)

Do you know if they have a silent disco or anything alike? I just heard that something called the 'Boiler Room' is meant to be really good :D

And how can I forget Offspring :) do they do anything huge on stage? I can just imagine foam spilling out for 'I want you Bad' haha. Ah I can't wait!

And Enter Shikari are amazing live, saw them for an all-day fest about 2 years ago with The Blackout, they threw glowsticks and novelty hats into the crowd, good times :)

I just joined this forum to meet other people going, it's only two of us going this year so it'd be nice to meet more people, especially BRS fans :D

Yeah they are! I would prob die if I'd see Brand New live, such an amazing band. Cant wait for their new rec or some new songs or news at least. Theyre always so goofy about that haha.

I know Pukkelpop is hardly ever selling out, Im not worrying about that. ^^ I think theyre just printing tickets for anyone who wants them, they've got enough space and security rules arent as strict in Belgium. Boiler Room is the stage that has all these DJs and some dance acts as well, its based next to a bigger Dance tent where some acts play that need time to build up their stage you know, like Pendulum or the live set of Simian Mobile Disco (which was absolutely ace last year) But Boiler is fun, theyve got some pretty names there too this year.

Aah The Blackout, I wanna see them too haha. Looks like we should team up ;)

Johnny Sniper ;) hihi.

Well yeah, it's been mentioned before, plenty really, and yes I'm going too. I love Pukkelpop, somewhere close to how much I love Blood Red Shoes. That's pretty much all that needs to be said.

Yeah I heard people blagging in drugs in their sleeping bags which they don't check ha, but the checks take 2 hours apparently? eep. We're getting to Belgium around 3pmish as well because we're going Amsterdam a few days before then getting the Eurostar to Belgium on the 19th.

And team up, yes sounds good :] I've sent you a message with my msn.

Woah, how did you know that? Ha. I'm guessing you found my facebook? :] I met him about a year ago through my mate Hayley. We went to the New Slang club night to see Crystal Castles live.

How do you know him? Are you from Kingston as well?

I went with my ex last year and absolutely loved it..

Is anyone flying to Brussels Charleroi? Seems that the cheapest way is to fly from Manchester (£50 return)? There isn't a train station at that airport so ideally I want to fly to the main one in Brussels and take the train from there to Kiewit/Hasselt

I'm leaving tomorrow night, bum around at St Pancras until the Eurostar leaves at 6 in the morning - should be there at 12 on Wednesday when the campsite opens..

I heard Placebo have pulled out? Exhaustion or something - probably means the Reading and Leeds dates are cancelled as well

We did our very best to decide which act was the most horrible this year, couldn't think of one. It was amazing.
