Anyone know when the digital format of the single will be released? I have checked on itunes, recordstore and digital7 but the single is not coming up on any of them. I have purchased the vinyl but i want the mp3's for my ipod. Ta for the help.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on either. I'm not normally the digital download kinda guy, but since there's a download-exclusive track I don't really have a choice!

i have emailed the appropriate people about this...there's no reason that it's not up other than someone somewhere has made a balls up. will keep ya posted on what's going on...it's a bummer coz there's another new b-side with it as well (albeit very very different from carry knots)

Question: What with the track being on the album, how do you mean it's not on iTunes? Surely it's there anyway?

Of course the B side being there is an issue. By the way, does a download of the B side on iTunes count as a "sale" of the single?

The single version is different from the one on the album though - shorter introduction and less feedback at the end. So yeah, technically it is already on iTunes, but it's not going to be the version they're releasing.

Aaah, that kind of makes sense. Well, your explanation does. The act of "releasing" a digital single that's already on an album doesn't seem to quite mean anything really, other than a different mix being put onto iTunes at a time that coincides with a 7" being released.

(I'm not taking issue with what BRS have done, it's a little whinge about what happens in the music industry.)

you've kinda figured this out already - it's not been released as such because it's on the album so you can download it already, and the single version wouldn't be any different. we dont release the radio edit versions of songs on the actual singles or albums. as far as we're concerned the edits are done as a way of helping get us on mtv/radio, i see it as like giving out a flyer for the song..but on the releases we always release the proper song as it's intended to be heard.

...only i just listened to the vinyl and found out that the radio edit has been used. that is a mistake made somewhere along the line.

i've also found out the b-side was supposed to be put up on monday but it hasn't, also a mistake.

and you have every right to whinge about the way things are done in the music industry, we dont like it either, which is why we at least TRY to keep things pure when we release it to the public (ie the real people, not the TV/radio programmers). although this time it's gone awry sadly. we're a bit bummed on it and the relevant arses have been kicked now, so we just have to move along.

i'm glad you guys seem to like carry knots tho. we're really happy with it (although don't make any assumptions about the 2nd album all sounding like that, coz it wont). melvo should be up for download soon else i'm gonna put it on my fucking soulseek.

The radio edit of IWIWSB sounded really awkward, I didn't like it. The others have been pretty well done though.

Anywho, over in opposite land, Cajun Dance Party's new single was put up on iTunes this week when it's not even supposed to be released for another two weeks. Similar thing happened with Elle Milano. Why do we not get our Blood Red Shoes B-sides at all?

I don't think we should care so much you see because I think the B-sides will be available on their own EP.

If not, BRS should so do that. It would be good. I mean if Ash bloody do it, why can't BRS?
