Upcoming/recent Gigs that aren't BRS

Postby James Ether on Wed Apr 15, 2009 2:29 pm

I don't think this topic has been done before so I thought I'd make it + it'd probably stop clogging the Random Thread with gig related things.

So what gigs have you got coming up? I will be attending the following soon:

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead- Thu 16th April Manchester Academy 3
Yeah Yeah Yeah's- Wed 22nd April Manchester Academy 1
65daysofstatic- Thu 23rd April The Deaf Institute, Manc
Metric- Mon 11th May Academy 3
Patrick Wolf- Sun 31st May Manhcester Ritz
Glastonbury

Also, I thought this would be a good place to discuss other upcoming gigs people may or may not be interested it.

Brilliant! I think this thread is aiming at regular gigs goer like me and Rob :D

my list is actually on my facebook info. I am going to list mine till May, I have few booked on June (Brand New x2), July (NINJA!) and September (including Bestival) which is unusual because normally September is dead compare to October which is strange though I have nothing book on that month yet

26th April: Violet Violet, 100 Club, London
28th April: Blue Roses, Pure Groove in-store, London
1st May: Blue Roses, Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
6th May: Marissa Nadler, The Luminaire, London
11th May: The Specials, Brixton Academy, London
15th May: Blue Roses, Borderline, London
then on the same day
Saint Etienne, Bloomsbury Ballroom, London
27th May: Antony & The Johnsons, Hammersmith Apollo, London

also Holy Fuck @ Farmhouse, Canterbury on 9th May but its a maybe, well if I can get late evening off from work

I was not offended
For I knew I had to rise above it all
Or drown in my own shit."

I guess I'm from too far from everywhere to make you interested in what I write, but still:

Handsome Furs - 19th April, Prague (probably postponed or cancelled, beacuse the venue is closed for gigs :(( )
Health - 2nd May, Prague
...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - 6th May, Prague
65daysofstatic - 10th May @ Paradiso, Amsterdam
Tokyo Sex Destruction, Möno and The Prostitutes - 14th May, Prague

My schedule is not as full as I thought...

I decided to rename the thread to talk about gigs we've been to as well.

Mostly so I can say I got told last minute to go to URBIS in town, so I can watch Trail of Dead do a session for Channel M! Even though I got there with minutes to spare I somehow managed to get to the front too! major problem being that I was next to the amps, so my right ear is now deaf. Also, couldn't hear the vocals properly either due to a lack of a PA for them.

Pretty good fun though, makes me more excited about seeing them tonight!

Trail of Dead proper gig last night was amazing. My hearing is currently destroyed from standing to close to the PA (earplugs didn't help much). I has a signed setlist too which makes me happy.

I'm so happy I've postponed our flight to Amsterdam to 7th May (Trails of Dead are playing Prague on the 6th)! Last time I almost got killed but it was goooood.

I was originally in the middle, but had to get out during the 3rd song as I couldn't breathe. Rest of the gig passed by with less pain. Setlist:

The Giants Causeway/The Far Pavillions
Isis Unveiled
It Was There That I Saw You
Homage
Bells Of Creation
Will You Smile Again?
Relative Ways
Clair De Lune
Totally Natural
Another Morning Stoner
Caterwaul
