True Blood (US pace)

Postby Ollie on Sat Jul 25, 2009 8:01 pm

Figured I'd make a thread, enough people watch it ...

A few weeks ago I thought Maryann was made of awesome but I'm a bit fed up of the orgy parties every week, I really wanna know what the fuck she's up to.

Can't wait to see how Bill's maker turning up is going to affect things.

i know. i like maryann as a character, i just think they need to show her doing something else.
having just finished living dead in dallas im interested to see if even though they've done her story slightly differently whether the end result is the same OR whether they're gonna change what happens with her completely.

really excited for lorena (bill's maker) who has just turned up in club dead (book 3) so slightly confused about that but i think the fact they're changing things slightly from the book is just making reading it/watching it more exciting

I've just started Living Dead in Dallas (on about chapter 3) but I'm really really glad that Lafayette lives on in TB land.

Okay, last night's episode was one big clusterfuck of WTF and OMG and NO YOU CANNOT LEAVE ME HANGING UNTIL NEXT FUCKING SUNDAY?

Daphne is literally, such a little swine. Maryann's storyline is finally in full swing and really fucking scary. Poor Sam. Love that Mrs Newlin is using God to get into Jason's pants. Poor Lafayette.

omg it was so good!
although there really wasn't enough of bill or eric for my liking.
lorena is a bitch, as is daphne (haha swine, nice one ollie)
maryann is so creepy!
the stuff at the church was really good, very faithful to the book, and gabe, omg, that guy is horrible and scary which is perfect.

those are my bullet point thoughts! :)

I'm pissed off. You'd think a Speculation Without Spoilers thread like, wouldn't have any spoilers on wouldn't you? Ended up stumbling across like one spoiler, but one is enough. I'm not watching any promos to get completely surprised by what happens.

Also "Jessica Hamby" has the funniest blog in the world.

aww ollie that sucks.
i watch all the trailers etc but i don't really read anything that has spoilers in, so id be feeling pretty gutted if the same had happened to me.

at this rate im really excited to see what they do in season 3 and 4 (assuming they run that long) cuz club dead was an awesome story and so far dead to the world is really good too :)

I've FINALLY managed to catch up with 'US Pace' now. Took me a bit to find the time to get through the season 2 episodes for a million reasons, but it's all good.

As a non-book reading fan, I can't help but wonder if the Maryann storyline has hit a bit of a dead end? There doesn't seem to be any kind of cliffhanger going on at the moment. Last season it was the murderer, now we just have this 'war' to look forward to between the FOTL vs Vamps, which is quite obviously going to be a massive anticlimax when it happens. Anyway, yeah hope stuff perks up soon.

I'm just really eager to find out her intentions with both Sam and Tara, and why exactly Maryann seeked out Tara. One theory I came up with is that when Tara got her demon "exorcised", she stabbed that little girl and if I recall correctly that girl - her demon - had the black eyes. What if the exorcism wasn't fake after all? What if that exorcism summoned Maryann, and that's why Miss Jeanette ended up dead?

I don't know how they're going to get rid of Maryann, I can't see how she can last past this season - and I can't see how she can be rid of. And as for Eggs, I still don't particularly trust him.

I pretty much trust Alan Ball though to write a brilliant conclusion to the storyline though, he never let down when it came to Six Feet Under and I don't see him starting now.

as a book reading fan, maryann isn't really in the books as much as she has been in the tv show and they've made her interact with so many other characters that im excited to see alan ball's ending to the maryann story. i want to know about tara and sam and i also want to know why she attacked sookie...as they haven't explained this yet.

the war doesn't happen in the same way in the books either. alan ball has really made this series more of his own, whereas series 1 was pretty much chapter to episode from sookie's perspective but with the other characters added in.

i have to say, i am really enjoying the series and it is pretty different to the books. but i am excited to see what happens.

has anyone else (who has read the books) seen the pic of evan rachel wood? i think she's perfect!!

I know it's been a good few months since I read the second book, but I honestly don't remember half this stuff happening.

Last night's episode was great, as it focussed more on the crazy Jesus people than the orgies.

Good points:
"You're worse than Judas!" Why, what did he do to you?"
"Why're you in here?" "I sodomised a pine tree."
Any scene with Jason in.
The Eric/Bill scenes remind me of Spike/Angel sparring over Buffy...and Godric reminds me of Johnathon.

"I've already been to heaven, it was inside your wife." And usually I'm not even a Jason fan, but he was made of WIN last night. Could've done without the Maryann/Tara/Eggs stuff last night though, it was kinda uncomfortable to watch.

One thing that pisses me off - Luke goes into the FOTS to blow up cool vamps like Godric and Isabel, and Lorena gets away? Nuh-uh!
